A strategic partnership focused on igniting the impact of ESC.
Endangered Species Chocolate (ESC) seeks a partner to design and develop a website for chocolatebar.com. SmallBox is committed to helping the organization achieve it’s goals, engage it’s customers, and better serve its mission.
  • Goals for the site include: 1. to educate and inform around product and mission, and to encourage visitors to stay connected through sharing contact information; 2. inspire visitors to engage and return to the site.
  • The website will serve as the hub for other marketing initiatives and should provide visitors a compelling reason to share email addresses.
  • The next iteration of the site will include e-commerce functionality and this site should be able to accomodate that update.
  • There’s an interest in understanding the competitive landscape and how ESC shows up online.
  • Content will be revamped and reoganized.
  • Five personas exist, but the website should be built for Activist Annie and Healthy Heather.Would would to launch by World Elephant Day, August 12, but flexible based on project start.
The Project

Our approach to projects is deeply rooted in the process of human-centered design, often called design thinking. This non-linear methodology often reveals new ways of seeing and sparks innovation inside even the most traditional projects and organizations. Our work is defined by asking questions, synthesizing input, embracing and managing uncertainty, and understanding people and their unique needs.

We’ve outlined our intended project plan. The timeline is broken into high level phases, followed by a brief description of each, including tasks and deliverables to be conducted and developed.

Planning
This phase will focus on reviewing the existing ESC audience research, as well as supplementing the research with an additional site survey to gather insights around users’ experiences online. The survey will provide clarity around user goals, perceptions of ESC from the existing website, and ideas for improvement and continued engagement. From the analytics review, survey responses, and existing research review, we will synthesize the data collected in order to identify insights and opportunities in the digital space.

Sarah is passionate about designing for the human experience and improving the lives of those around her. Sarah’s gifts of visual design, process design, and empathy give her the unique ability to craft solutions that deeply connect with audiences. Her creative mediums range from watercolors to wireframes. As a creative leader, Sarah helps others visualize what often seems beyond their grasp. Outside of her role as Design Director, Sarah dabbles in painting and illustration, likes to travel, and enjoys trying all the best food Indy has to offer.
