Sara McGuyer

Chief Culture Officer

As Chief Culture Officer, Sara's primary role is a hybrid of marketing and human resources. She serves as the lead brand ambassador and chief storyteller for SmallBox, and is obsessed with fostering a company culture where awesomeness thrives.

Sara also works as a strategist for our clients, designing collaborative experiences, building brand and messaging strategy, and offering other facilitation and creative consulting. As the brain-parent of Think Kit, Sara loves infecting others with the desire to get their thoughts out into the world. She sees content opportunities everywhere.

Fresh out of University of Evansville with a B.F.A. in Creative Writing, Sara spent her earliest post-college years working at Barnes and Noble. She calls it her "accidental career," but it was this happy accident that taught her the ins and outs of team building, as she led numerous teams and stores around Chicago. A return to her hometown of Evansville landed Sara as marketing director at United Way. She was given a blank check to explore possibilities during the dawn of social media, and her love of all things digital caught fire.

Between Evansville and Chicago, Sara thinks Indianapolis feels just right. A marathoner working on running 26.2 in every state, you might find her running in and around the city via our wonderful trails. She geeks out over film. And baking. And a good many other things. But best of all, Sara likes spending time with her husband and dogs in their 1920s bungalow.
