I’m a tender dude, so it doesn’t take a lot to make my heart explode. I'm constantly moved by art and music and every day miracles like pretty desserts. Anyway, here are 3 things that really moved me this year.
My Favorite Picture of You.
This short film made my eyes sweat profusely. It's about memory and loss and love, told in a simple, moving style. For me it's a constant reminder how effective a simple story can be.
Anything from Storycorps.
People’s stories are really powerful and StoryCorps does a great job of presenting them. If you catch me silently crying at my desk, it’s probably because of one of their videos.
Supercuts / Video Montages. All kinds.
There’s something satisfying about identifying, curating and celebrating the patterns / tropes that run through pop culture. A great supercut can take something benign and elevate it into art. Take this super cut of 80s wrestlers breathing heavily.
This is my generation’s folk art. If this doesn't move you, then you are not human.
Pizza. All kinds.
