2013 has been an important year from me in many ways, I changed and grew in
many ways. Here are some of my discoveries.
What a Level 5 Commitment Looks Like
Although I can’t get too specific in this post, I learned what it means to go all in for a friend. A “Level 5” commitment is when nothing but death will stop you from getting it done. Over the summer I had an experience that pushed me to my limits, in good ways. It was one of the most stressful weeks of my life, but I'm now grateful for it and have taken that experience back to other areas of my life.
What It Means To Really Let Go
One of the best things I did at the end of 2012 was to put together a leadership team at SmallBox. Over the last year I’ve given up more and more control to this team, and they have stepped up time and time again. It’s been a really rewarding experience. Thank you Sara, Jason, Dan and Elizabeth! You guys rock.
Being A Husband & Father, Again
Ok, it’s not like I just started this year, but I feel like this is something I’m constantly re-discovering. My relationship with my wife Jenny really deepened over the last year, and it’s been exciting to see her move towards starting her own business in the coming year. It will be fun to watch her go through the start-up experience, and hopefully I can help without getting in the way. My kids have changed and grown so much over the past year that I feel I have to rediscover them all the time. They continue to surprise me with their unique awesomeness.
